Lu, He, Lee Claim Victory at the Nike Golf Junior Series

South Surrey, BC (March 11, 2012) – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) conducted its final round of the Nike Golf Junior Series at Hazelmere Country Club today. Clear skies gave hopeful juniors a chance to challenge the course only to battle high winds late in the afternoon.

The Boys 15-19 division saw a dramatic finish as Jordan Lu of Vancouver, BC sank a four foot putt on the 18th green to seal the victory. “It was nice to win it on 18 today. The greens were great this weekend” said Lu who had 17 pars in the final round for a 73 (+1) to finish the tournament with an even par 144. Runner up was first round leader Alan Tolusso of Burnaby, BC who carded rounds of 70 and 75 for a two day total of 145 (+1). Rounding out the top three was Tom Bang of Coquitlam, BC with scores of 73 and 75 to finish the tournament 148 ( +4).
 
Henry Lee Coquitlam, BC overcame a six stroke difference to claim victory in the Boys 14 & Under division. “I knew I had to played my own game and see what happens” said Lee who ended the day with a 72 (E) to finish the tournament 145 (+1).  Patrick Tan of Vancouver, BC open the tournament with a blistering 66 (-6) but could not maintain the momentum going into Sunday finishing with an 81 and a tournament total of 147 (+3). Four strokes back in third was Isaac Chen of Richmond, BC shooting rounds of 74 and 77 to finish with a total of 151 (+7).
 
Going wire to wire in the Girls division was Muni He of Pitt Meadows, BC. “I’m happy and proud of the win today” said He. “I really practiced over the winter and it’s nice to see it pay off” continued He who shot two rounds of 73 to finish with a 146 (+2). Runner up was Ally Shin of Coquitlam, BC shooting rounds of 76 and 78 for a tournament total of 154. In third place was Michelle Kim of Surrey, BC with rounds of 81 and 78 to finish 159 (+15).
